API specifications are met and exceeded for all balls and seats.The following materials are available in ball and seat sets with the ball and seat being the same material or a combination of materials.Cobalt, chromium and tungsten alloy with high corrosion and abrasion resistant properties. The ball hardness is HRC 58-61 and the seat hardness is HRC 52-56 and is essentially nonmagnetic. DuMore® is recommended for all hard pumping conditions with abrasive and corrosive fluids.Tungsten Carbide is the hardest and toughest ball and seat material available. It has the best abrasion and impact resistance of all ball and seat materials and has good corrosion resistance. Nickel Carbide is almost as hard and tough as Tungsten Carbide and has better corrosion resistance. Titanium Carbide is offered as a ball material and has about the same hardness and toughness as Nickel Carbide with the same weight.
