The anesthesia machine uses compressed oxygen and nitrous oxide from a gas cylinder or central gas supply system at the hospital. The compressed oxygen and nitrous oxide from the central gas supply system are both at a pressure of 0.4MPa. After oxygen and backup oxygen are combined by a one-way valve and then split into two flows, one is connected to an oxygen flush valve, and the other flow is depressurized to 0.3 to 0.35MPa by a pressure regulator and then enters a flow meter and is connected with an oxygen fault alarm. The laughing gas is depressurized to 0.25 to 0.30MPa by a pressure regulator and then enters the flow meter. The pressure of the gas from the gas cylinder or central oxygen supply system may vary with the temperature and air storage. The purpose of the pressure regulator (also called reducing valve) is to stabilize the gas pressure and meet the need of the anesthesia machine.
