Bow spring centralizers are to help center the casing in the wellbore, allowing even distribution of the cement around the casing during cementing operations.
The bow-type centralizer is characterized by a high restoring capability. The shape and stiffness of the bows determine the restoring force, which is defined as the resistance force when a bow is compressedby 1/3 of its uncompressed height.8) Features of Bow Spring Casing Centralizer:

a. Designed for high restoring force and low starting & running force

b. The larger bowsprovide complete centralization in vertical or slightly deviated wells.

c. Due to the flexibility of bows, they can pass through narrow hole sections and expand in the targeted locations.

d. Undergo special coating process to prevent from rust

e. For hinged bow spring casing centralizers, end collars are designed with self-locking action, which are easy to assemble and can be shipped in half assembled condition for less shipping and storage costs.

f. The double bow casing centralizer permits compression to facilitate movement through tight spots and dog legs. Compared to other spring bow centralizers, this structure attains higher stand-off because of its higher restoring force.
