Switchable Transparent Glass ( STG ), also called private glass, smart glass, smart film glass, intelligent switchable glass, which is a kind of glass that switchable film embedded firmly between two pieces ordinary glass based on existing dry-laminated process. Because of adopting interlayered lamination processing technics makes the glass owns transparence when switch on mode and opaque when switch off mode.
This special film - Switchable Film consists of a liquid crystal polymer which changes its visual appearance when an electrical current is activated. A simple ON - OFF mode transforms the glass from being clear (transparent) to opaque (translucent),it can become Transparent when power on, then opaque when power off.With such a function, Smart glass meets people's doublerequirements oflight transmission and protecting privacy.
Working PrinciplePDLC film's light scattering power is adjustable through applying an electric field. When power off, visible light scatters through the PDLC and then the film turn opaque; when power on, visible light transmits the PDLC and then the film turns clear. The film is composed of PET film, ITO film, polymer and liquid crystal molecules.
