It requires no special tools or heavy equipment for construction, the bridge elements are small enough to be carried in trucks, and the bridge is strong enough to carry tanks and heavy trucks. It is considered a great example of military engineering as temporary bridge. Bailey bridge continues to be produced and used today for various civil projects in China.3.Steel Bailey Bridge is also called as portable steel bridge, panel bridge, modular bridge, steel truss bridge or temporary bridge with pedestrian.
There are two models, namely Compact 100 and 200 bridges in international market. In China, there are two sizes of panels accordingly, i. e. 3m*1.4m (Compact 100) and 3.048m *2.134m (Compact 200). It can be assembled into 3.7m, 4.2m and 7.56m standard width bridges or other extra widths.
