What is Centrifugal Casting?
Centrifugal casting is a process that delivers castings of very high material soundness, and thus is the technology of choice for applications likejet engine compressor cases,petrochemical furnace tubes, manymilitary products, and other high-reliability applications.
In the centrifugal casting process, molten metal is poured into a spinning die. The die can be spinning either on a vertical or horizontal axis depending on the configuration of the desired part. Ring and cylinder type shapes are cast vertically; tubular shapes are made with the horizontal centrifugal process. Either process may be used to produce multiple parts from a singlecasting.External structures and shaping can be cast in place to significantly reduce post-processing including machining orfabrication.
Because of the high g-forces applied to the molten metal in the spinning die, less dense material, including impurities, "floats" to the I.D. where it is subsequently removed by machining. Solidification is managed directionally under pressure, from the O.D. to the I.D., avoiding any mid-wall shrinkage, leaving a defect-free structure without cavities or gas pockets.
Product DescriptionDouble work position centrifugal cylinder casting machine is composed of two main engines, a set of mobile auxiliary machine working platform, a set of automatic pouring device, casting tubes conveying device, and electric control system, etc. The two main engines work coordinately with auxiliary machines, while the pouring system performing automatic pouring work to the two main engines on a time division basis.
The main engines is in horizontal supporting wheel structure, and its speed is frequency conversion regulating. Theauxiliary machines are compactly arranged on one mobile platform. The mobile platform movingand spraying vehicle both adoptservo driving method. The whole machine has the characteristics of compact structure, smooth movement, and high degree of automation.
The control system adopts PLC control system to control the actions of mainmachines and auxiliary machines, and the speed regulating process of the supporting wheels of the main machines. The variablespeed regulating system is composed of AC frequency conversion motor and AC frequency conversion speed regulator. By adopting imported AC frequency converter, the system has a characteristic of low speed and high torque, and being smooth in speed control and wide in the speedrange. The touch screen can monitor the working condition of the centrifugal casting machine and display the pouring process parameters, as well as the fault alarm information of the machine. The control system has twoworking methods, manual and automatic methods.
The equipment is composed of centrifugal main casting machine (including a large base, bearing housing, supporting wheels, bearing, main motor and its base), mobile platforms (including spray coating, cleaning, tubes drawing, mobile trolley), automatic pouring device, electric control system, cooling system, casting tubes conveying device, etc.
main engine
The mainengineshas double working positions, and the two main engines are installed in the large base of welding structure. The large base is mounted on the embedded parts by welding or by screws mounting. Each main engine consists of four supporting wheels, divided into two pairs, respectively assembled into the driving shaft and driven shaft, which are mounted on the large base through the base plate (detachable) of the bearing seat (interchangeable in bearing maintenance). In pouring process, the tube molds are put between the two pairs of supporting wheels, a face angle of 95 - 115 degrees can be formed between supporting wheel center and the rotation center of the tube molds. When starting the equipment, the belt pulley of the motor drives the belt pulley of the main shaft (mounted on the pouring end surface of the main shaft) to rotate through the driving mechanism, and then the torque is transmitted through the friction force existing between the supporting wheels and tube molds, which in turn drive the high-speed rotation of the tube molds, and the pouring work can be processed.Auxiliaryengine
The auxiliary machines are compactly mounted on one mobile platform, consisting of the cleaning device, tube drawing device, spraying device, and trolleys, etc. They are used to complete taskssuch as cleaning, spraying and tube drawing of the two main machines.Spray coating
It has excellent spray coating quality.The function of tube mold's inner coating:
1 reduce the impact of metal liquid on the tube molds
2 reduce the peak temperature of the tube molds
3 effectively prolong the service life of the tube molds
4 increase the friction force between the tube molds and liquid metal
5 shorten the time of the pour-in metal liquid to achieve the tube rotation speed and also facilitate the casting pieces to release from the molds in tube drawing process.
The spray lance moves with servo control.So the spray lance has a smooth movement and an adjustable position, which ensures the uniformity of the spray coating. The speed of the spray lance can be divided into three sections. The movement distance and speed of each section can be adjusted.With the rotating speed and spraying pressure of the tube mold, it can meet the requirements of a variety of complex spraying processes.
Cooling system
The cooling system is real-time monitoring of the tube mold's temperature and control the spray water cooling.The mold temperature has a very big influence on the quality of the cylinder liner,Especially in metallographic structure and hardness of the cylinder liner.If the mold's temperature is too high, the wet coating material shall inflames, which can cause uneven coatings.It can't ensure the surface quality of the cylinder liner.In the meanwhile the service life of the molds shall be shortened. If the mold's temperature is too low. When pouring the coating can't dry out completely.The bubbles can't dissolve out completely before pouring. when the molten iron of high temperature meets the wet coating material,the casting defects such as the white casts and air pores are likely to occur to the cylinder liner.
Tool for casting extraction
Casting extraction mechanism is controlled by servo and Pneumatic control system. So it is very accurate and reliable.It can extract the casting smoothly from the tube molds. The position and speed of the casting extraction can be set up and adjusted.
Pouring system
Automatic pouring device is composed of pouring vehicle, pouring ladle, etc.
Pouring vehicle can serve two engines for pouring respectively.
Electric control system
Control system use PLC as the control core and use the man-machine interface as the monitoring system.It controls the whole process automatically and monitors the whole production process.Control system has the perfect protective measures, such as over-current protection, over-load protection, etc. The process parameters of the main engine and the auxiliary engine all can be adjusted and stored in the man-machine interface such as work positions and velocity. It meets the production process requirement of a variety of cylinder liner castings in a certain range.
Cast tube conveying device
The cast tube when pulled out will be sent to the conveying belt that stretches from the tail of the auxiliarymachine for 3000mm. At the end of the conveying belt, there provides the detection device for existence of cast tube and also the cast tube overturnmechanism. Therefore, once detected its presence, thecasttube will be automatically turned over onto the cooling device (supplied by the buyer).
