Smelting Process:
1. Smelting
6082 alloy is characterized by Mn, Mn is refractory metal, melting temperature should be controlled at 740-760 ºC. Stir evenly for more than two times before sampling to ensure complete melting of metal, accurate temperature and even composition. After mixing, take one sample from the middle of the aluminum liquid depth and left and right sides of the furnace respectively for analysis, and the converter can be started after the analysis is qualified.
2. Purification and Casting
After the melt is transferred into a standing furnace, nitrogen and refining agent are used for powder spraying and air jet refining. The refining temperature is 735-745 ºC, the time is 15 minutes, and the melt is standing for 30 minutes after refining. Through this process, degassing, slag removal and melt purification are carried out.
During casting, there are two filter devices between the mold and the furnace. The furnace has a foam ceramic filter plate (30PPI) to filter. Before casting, 14 mesh glass cloth is used to filter the oxide and slag in the melt.
The casting temperature of 6082 alloy aluminum plate is higher (compared with the normal process of 6063 aluminum plate), the casting speed is lower, and the water flow rate is larger. The above process should be strictly controlled and should not exceed the scope, otherwise it is easy to lead to casting failure.
