Biocide BC T is a non-phenolic, non-sulphur containing biocide designed to prevent bacterial growth in water-base muds and low-salinity clear brine fluids.

Application
Biocide BC T can be used to treat bacterial growth in water-base muds and low-salinity clear brines.
In an ideal situation, microbial survey should be made prior to treatment to determine aerobic, anaerobic, and sulfate-reducing bacteria content. All non-potable water should be treated with Biocide BC T.
Additions of Biocide BC T will be prevent polymer degradation and corrosion caused by bacteria growth. Biocide BC T is an ideal substitute for glutaraldehyde.
Typical applications include packer fluids, seawater-base muds and low-salinity fluids.
Recommended treatment levels are initially 0.10 to 0.61 kg/m3 (0.5 to 3.0 gal/100bbl) or (0.012 to 0.72% v/v).
Maintenance treatment of Unibrom 1,3,5S are suggested at 0.11 kg/m3 on a weekly basis (0.5 gal/100 bbl) or (0.012% v/v).
Many areas of the world restrict biocides based on human and ecological toxicity. Local laws and regulations should be checked carefully prior to using any biocide, as they are subject to change.
Advantages
Compatible with all types of clear brines fluids
Prevents corrosion caused by bacterial growth
Limitations
Should be used to control corrosion as a part of a total corrosion package
Will preserve polymers in fluids using careful PH control.
Refer to local regulations on use of all biocides before using.
Toxicity and Handing
Bioassay information is available upon request.
Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as describled on the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
