Welding is a technology that connects metals by melting a workpiece (base material) and causing fusion,
while brazing is a welding technology performed by melting filler metal and flowing it into the joint.

In brazing and welding, the manufacturer adds filler metal to the joint. The filler metal can be aluminum-silicon,
brass, bronze, copper, copper-silver, gold-silver, nickel alloy or silver.
However, the main differences are as follows:
In brazing (brazing), the melting point of the filler metal is lower than the melting point of the workpiece
(base material). In welding (welding), the filler metal has a higher melting point.
In brazing, the manufacturer does not melt the workpiece (base material). In welding, the manufacturer
fuses the base material and each workpiece together.

Phosphorus Copper
The Phosphorus Copper alloys are extensively used to join copper and copper alloy base metals (brass, bronzes).
Phos-Copper is extensively used in Non-Ferrous
Industry.
They have self-fluxing properties when used on copper and may or may not contain Silver.
Continuous service operating temperatures of joints brazed with these alloys range up to approx 200 °C.
Corrosion resistance is satisfactory, except when the joints are exposed to sulfurous environments, especially at
elevated temperatures.
Phosphorous Copper alloys should not be used on ferrous, nickel based alloys, or copper-nickel alloys with more
of 10% nickel, in order to avoid premature failure of the joint due to the formation of brittle intermetallic phases.
