Plano convex lenses are ideal for focusing parallel light to a point. These lenses can be used in a variety of applications.
They have proven focal lengths, and they have near-optimal shapes for infinite and finite distance conjugate applications.
A plano convex lens can converge a collimated beam in the rear focus or turn a point light source into a collimated beam
Plano convex lenses produced by our company are usually made of K9 glass. Their antireflection coating is aimed at the
wavelength range of 400-700 nm. UV quartz is also used as the substrate. When UV quartz is used as the substrate, it
has good transmittance and low expansion coefficient in the ultraviolet region, and can be plated with ultraviolet AR film with
special cases.
A plano convex lens is usually used to focus parallel light. The front and rear surfaces of the flat convex lens are asymmetric,
so the spherical aberration can be effectively reduced, especially in applications where the object image distance is not equal.
The best application is to place an object at infinity ( as a parallel light incident) for imaging in the focal plane. At this point,
the object image conjugate ratio (that is, object distance / image distance) is infinite. The convex surface of the lens should
be placed in the direction of the object.
