AISI 5140 alloy steel is a structural alloyed carbon steel according to AISI/ASTM standard which is widely used in Low and moderately stressed parts for vehicles, engines and machines where hard, wear resisting surface is needed. The hardness as surface hardened is about 54 HRC.

Hardening is used to meet specific mechanical properties which can make the material fit for use.
Tempering is used to remove the stresses and brittleness caused by quenching, develop the required mechanical properties,and improve dimensional stability and toughness.
Annealing
Annealing is a process used to soften the material,enhance the machinability and toughness,increase the ductility and improve the homogeneity in material.
Normalizing
Normalizing is used to make material softer , refine the grain size and improve the uniformity of microstructure and properties.Shape:Round / Square / Flat Bars, Shafts, Rollers, Blocks.
