With α ω-terminated allyl and epoxy functional groups as shown in the molecular structure, HM-2872Q can react with various chemicals and provide unique properties in different formulations for many applications, such as coatings, adhesives, composites, textiles, batteries, and energy, etc...

HM-2872Q is an effective reactive diluent and resin modifier in epoxy, vinyl, and acrylic polymer formulations. Due to its low viscosity, it not only improWelding & Soldering Supplies ves the properties, but also provides excellent processing properties for those polymeric formulation systems.

Many properties of coatings, adhesives, and composites can be enhanced by HM-2872 at additive level. Those properties include flexibility, toughness and impact resistance, gas/vapor barrier, surface modification, charge conductivity, swellability, and biocompatibility, etc.

When used in epoxy resins, HM-2872Q is a multi-functional additive as reactive diluent to reduce processing viscosity and improve flexibility of epoxy resin, also, as a crosslinking agent good for both thermal and UV/EB curing. In vinyl and acrylic systems, the allyl functional group of HM-2872Q can be polymerized onto polymer backbone to introduce epoxy functionality for further reactions or crosslinking.

HM-2872Q is a specialty intermediate for silicone modification. The organosilicons of siPneumatic Component lanes or siloxanes modified by HM-2872Q are high performance surfactants and stabilizers often used in polyurethane foams and coatings. They are reactive additives for epoxy modifications as well.
