Cable barriers are flexible roadside barriers to provide safe guard in open areas (both roadside and median).It refers to guard cable or wire rope safety barrier (WRSB),is a type of roadside or median safety barrier.


The unique advantage of Brifen road wire-rope barrier fences is that weaving the ropes between the intermediate posts maximises the efficiency of the transfer of the kinetic energy from the impacting vehicle into the fence and then into the ground. The more work the posts do on the ropes, the more efficient is this transmission of energy. In the case of a vehicle accident, the ropes are drawn along the fence towards the point of impact.

【Details about 3x7 cable】
The barriers are manufactured with 3x7 high tensile steel cables, the most commonly used are 18mm and 19mm steel wire ropes. A 3x7 steel wire rope has three strands, each strand is made up of 7 identical wires wound around a center. Meanwhile the wire ropes are galvanized for keeping the cable free of corrosion and rusting.

【Three Major Factors on Efficiency of Cable Barriers】


1. Cable numbers: Three of four cables are commonly used. Five or six layer wire cables are used for reinforced guard railings.

2. Space distance: The barrier post often installed with spacing from 6.3 to 32.6 ft. The longer spacing normally means the higher deflection distance.


3. Tensioning: Cables are fixed on the post and tightened to specific tension in accordance with the local temperature and environment. After tension, the reflection will be reduces and the ability to preventing vehicles from skidding off the road can be enhanced. Normally the tensions values range approximately from 2,000lb to 9,000lb.

ZQGL has an annual output of 5,000 tons of highway cable barriers. The Company also supply posts in various shapes ( U type / Round type / Rectangle type ) and post caps, offset blocks, bolts and nuts, cable anchors and other accessories in connection with cable barriers.
