HPMC is a non-ionic cellulose ether produced by a series of chemical processes using natural polymer materials as raw materials. It is a water-soluble polymer compound, also known as water-soluble resin or water-soluble polymer. It is a hydrophilic polymer material that increases the consistency of the mixture by increasing the viscosity of the mixed water. Can be dissolved to form a solution or dispersion. It is mainly used as thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier, film-forming agent in the production of paints, building materials, paint removers and other products. When HPMC is added to concrete with a content not exceeding 0.05%, its addition can significantly improve the fluidity and viscosity of concrete slurry. After dissolution, a wet flexible film is formed between the solid particles and the gas bubbles, which has an excellent smoothing effect during mixing and effectively improves the fluidity of the slurry. However, if the content exceeds 0.05%, the slurry will become too viscous and the fluidity will be greatly reduced. Therefore, the content of 0.05% not only ensures slump but also stabilizes bubbles.
