Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose HPMC is a white powder made from raw material refined cotton after a series of processing. Among them, in addition to its different quality, it is also divided into two types:
1. Instant HPMC, also called cold water instant HPMC. Add it to normal temperature water or cold water, it will also decompose quickly.
2. Hot-melt HPMC is what we usually use in mortar, putty powder, etc., it needs to be dissolved at a certain temperature.
Because the cold-water instant HPMC is surface-treated with glyoxal and disperses quickly in cold water, but it is not really dissolved. The viscosity is up, and it is dissolved. Hot-melt HPMC has not been subjected to surface treatment with glyoxal. If the amount of glyoxal is large, the dispersion is fast, but the viscosity is slow, and the amount is small.
