Max input torque of Rudder Propeller depends on the capacity of its transmit power of prime mover the kind of Rudder Propeller operation, the type of prime mover or the sort of vessel may influence the actual allowable input torque figure. Please consult with our technical staff before selecting the definite Rudder Propeller, the output torque Mp of the prime mover (general diesel engine, hydraulic of electric motor) is the most important factor and is calculated as follow:
Mp <= Sf. MR
Mp = N· 9549/n
Sf = fz * fi * fs
Mp: Nm (Output torque of prime mover in Nm)
Sf: (Rudder Propeller service factors)
Mr: Nm (Max input torque of Rudder Propeller in Nm)
N: Kw (Output power of prime mover in Kw)
N: R/min (Input speed of Rudder Propeller in r/min)
Each type of Rudder Propeller has a specific allowable design torque, according to incorporating the normal engineering safety factors. Because ofour many years experiences, we consider that this design torque cannot be the gist in the selection procedure. Serious consideration has to be given to the service conditions, resulting in a service factor Sf with the nominal design torque has to be corrected. Please select the service factor Sf as follows:
The Rudder Propeller service factors do include the regulations of classification societies for normal operation. For ice-class SRP-type service required factors have to be between 0.33 and 0.67. The definite factors for special installation have to be defined by ours
