Nongzao Design, The Raw Earth

From the material point of view, "earth" is ultimately a simpler material, a material that is composed of the surface of the earth's crust, a soft material formed by various complex geological effects on the surface of the lithosphere over a long period of geological time. It is because the material of earth is too common and ordinary in appearance that it is easily to be overlooked. Soil is the basis for most of our food production, and it is estimated that up to 95% of our food comes from soil. But for too long, we have taken the soil for granted and not appreciated it.
From the material to the spiritual
The material is collected from human waste, making full use of the earth's inherent cohesiveness, adding naturally biodegradable plant fibers to increase its toughness, and moulding it with modern technology to ensure its strength and simple degradation, returning it to its earthy form without any harm to nature. The raw earth technique, with its the non-fired production process, reduces energy emissions, avoids secondary damage to nature and allows the material to be authentic and natural, retaining the natural coarseness of the soil in its texture, bringing the unique power of 'earth' into our daily lives. The raw earth forming technique brings design back to the material itself, then let it be organically growing, building each individual with material world's differences. By examining the earth as material, it is believed that there’s a responsibility and an obligation to explore a new design philosophy, rather than to copy a so-called style that is ephemeral. We would keep finding the value of our own existence in the future, through flowing lines, thoughtful functionality, warmth of tactility and implied culture, towards a life of purity and freedom.

Our Story
about NONGZAO
NonGZAO was founded in the year of 2019,and the brand is focus on the development of Chinese agriculture civilization in modern society. We would like to use modern design, even artistic techniques, or form to express the content of village, agriculture, and folk-custom.
Just like our Raw Earth series, which focus on soil; seed plan, the main base is in HuangGang Dongzhai, which in Guizhou Province,we searched and recovered the lost Xianghe sticky rice with local Dong minority people, the finished products are including passion fruit glutinous rice wine, sticky rice, and products made with coffee grounds, even the glutinous rice food that comes from the combination of seed plan with 3D printing technology. These products are available for sale in NonGZAO Rediscovering.
