Whatis PDLC Smart Film?
ThePDLC Smart Film is based on digital shading technology that allows the color ofthe film to go from non-transparent to transparent when a current is appliedthrough it.
Thetechnology known as Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) film is based onLCD crystals sandwiched between layers of PET plastic film.
With power on the crystals are aligned in the same direction and thus allowlight to pass through, but when switched off the crystals are misaligned witheach other preventing light to pass through and thus the film becomes opaque(Power OFF).
Howabout the Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) Smart Technology Works?
POWER ON = Transparent
Byapplying electric current to the crystals within the film, you are able toalign the crystals and thus transit light through the glass.
POWER OFF = Opaque
Byremoving the electric current to the crystals within the film, you are able tomisalign the crystals and thus prevent the transmittance of light through theglass.

The PDLC intelligent liquid crystal dimming film, as the name suggests, is a film that can adjust the light passing state. It mainly works between the scattering and transparent states, that is, the film itself can change between transparent and non-transparent states (the visual effect is close to frosted glass), and the transparency is adjusted by voltage.
The working principle is that when the dimming film is powered off, the polymer liquid crystal material in between is disorderly arranged so that light cannot penetrate the film, and the effect seen at this time is a milky opaque state.
