China Production Process of Water Retaining HPMC

The refined cotton is added to an inert solvent, and activation treatment is performed with alkali and soft water, so that the lattice of the refined cotton swells, which is conducive to the penetration of the etherifying agent molecules and improves the uniformity of the etherification reaction. The alkali used for alkalization is a metal hydroxide, and may also be an organic alkali. After the alkalization treatment, under a vacuum condition, an etherifying agent is added for etherification, and the etherifying agent is propylene oxide. In order to reduce the consumption of the etherifying agent, during the etherification process, the etherifying agent is added twice, the amount of the addition is 1-3.5 times of the refined cotton, and the total ink added twice is 1.5-4 times of the refined cotton. The purified cotton reacts fully with the etherifying agent to form HMPC, and then the HPMC is crushed and sieved, and the final product is obtained after crushing and sieving.
