Today I managed to achieve my first 1000meter, 1 kilometer shot with Ruger Precision Rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor caliber, with a Tac Vector Taurus 5-30x 56mm scope. It was tough, but after a few hours with the help of New Zealand's Long Range shooting Guru,Tim Boyd, I managed to start hitting the target at 1000 meters... The crosswinds and light 123gr Hornady Amax projectiles did not help. Planning to get a 338 Lapua Magnum... Next challenge, 1.6kms or 1-mile shot

a lacking feature in the top end Vector scope is the zero stop feature. In long range shooting, we normally sight in our rifles at 100m... Then we have a ballistic computer to calculate the shooting solutions for longer distances. For example for your Taurus, you have only 6 MIL per 360° rotation but to shoot 1km, I need to make 9.5 MILs UP adjustments and also windage depending on the wind direction and speed... Sometimes I lose track of how many turns I make on the dial... Some scopes have a Zero stop feature, where, they can always turn to the settings at 100m and thePackaging & Printing dial will stop there. Vector is a good scope, but to cater for the long-distance shooter, the scope must have a zero stop feature. Thanks.
