Operating Principle
Radio frequency waves are essentially electromagnetic waves in a particular range. At present, medical radio frequency is 200 KHz-750 KHz. The working frequency of RFA system is 480 KHz±10%. When radio frequency electric current flows through the bodytissues, rapid changes of the electromagnetic field makes the positive and negative ions in the cell move fast, and the friction between ionsand the friction between ions withother moleculesincells heat up, which make the temperature of lesion siterise. Thenthe cell evaporate, dry, contract, fall off and necrosis, so thatachievestherapeutic purposes.
How It Works
Insert the RFA needle electrode accurately into the tumor site.With the control of RF Generator, RFA system transmit RF pulse energy to tumor issues via the electrode. Due to poor heat dissipation and hyperthermia sensitivity of tumor cells, high frequency alternating current through the human body can rise the temperature of cancer cells and make rumor issues in high temperature (70ºC-90ºC), which make tumor tissue and adjacent tissue that may be diffused, solidified and necrotic. Thenthe necrotic tissue is absorbed in situ. That is how heat kills cancer cells.
