Producing smco magnets is a difficult work, Firstly,powder mixing processshouldavoid any dirt
cominginto the mixed powders,before the pressing,workers would wear cleanessclothingsand
masks. also,workerswould clean the instrument and finish pressing instrumentvacuum process,
After pressing,these magnet blanks need removing tosintering workshop, The sintering workers
would place these blankson graphite plates then move into sintering furnace.
Before sintering, sintering workers will startvacuum process and prewarming process,then operate
the machines toinject the argon gas and upping the sintering temperature to 1350 ºC , After a long
timeof sinteringwhen the sintering process have finished,the volume of smco blank swill reduceand
becomesmaller, the following process will be the wet polishing, the machaning features of smco is
very fragile,so polishing workers need wear protecting goggles,After polishing process, these smco magnet blank need to finish surface treating, then testing,at last,finish magnetizing and package.

Smco magnets are strong permanent magnet alloy of Samarium and Cobalt, their magnetism range
are from 16 MGOE to 33 MGOE.Magnetism of SmCo5 magnets are range from16 MGOe to 25 MGOe, its'reversible temperature coefficientis about 0.05% / ºC, When comprared with Sm2Co17,SmCo5 are having a better machanical properties.
sm2co17magnets have a magnetism range from 20 MGOE to 32MGOE, reversible temperature coefficient rate is 0.03%, usually applied on themotors or meters ,They arevery suitfor the high
temperature encionment.Since it reduces a lot ofexpensiveSamarium ,so the price of sm2co17
is much cheaper than SmCo5.
