Appearance: White granular powder, melting at about 190degrees centigrade. Gradually darkens on exposure to light and/or heat, reasonably stable in air when dry, but deteriorates in solution in the presence of air. One gram is soluble in about 3ml of water and in about 30ml of alcohol.
