The aspartate aminotransferase (AST) assay kit is intended for the accurate and direct quantitative measurement of AST activity in human plasma. AST measurement is useful in the diagnosis of liver disease and heart disease.
Test principle
In the coupling reaction above, the oxidation rate of NADH is proportional to the activity of AST. The unit activity of AST can be calculated from the decreasing rate of absorbance detected at a wavelength of 340 nm.
