Glycated Albumin (GA) test kit allows an accurate and quantitative in vitro measurement of glycated albumin (GA) and albumin (ALB) concentrations directly from human serum. GA%, the ratio of GA in g/L to ALB in g/L, is an important indicator for the screening and treatment of diabetes.
GA measurement helps monitor blood glucose levels. It is a more sensitive indicator of short-term variations of glycemic control than HbA1c is during treatment of diabetic patients. Therefore, GA measurement has more advantages over HbA1c in the confirmation of results and adjustment of dosage. In addition, HbA1c determination can be influenced by some abnormal hemoglobin metabolism, such as renal dialysis, anemia and pregnancy, while GA determination is free from this interference, and thus provides more reliable results.
GA test is based on various method, such as peroxidase method, Ketoamine oxidase and enzyme coupling method.
