Description
Polyanionic cellulose in drilling fluid are used as fluid loss agent. The functions of polyanionic cellulose is through forming low permeability, flexible, thin and compact filtration cake on borehole wall, to reduce the fluid loss of drilling fluid as much as possible. Polyanionic cellulose used as suspending agent, plugging agent and thickening agent for low solid phase drilling fluid.

Applications
1. CMC-containing mud can make the shaft wall to form a thin and strong, low permeability of the cake, so that water loss.
2. in the mud by adding CMC, the rig can get low initial shear force, so that easy to release the mud wrapped in the inside of the gas, while the debris quickly abandoned in the pit.
3. drilling mud and other suspension dispersion, with a certain period of existence, after adding CMC can make it stable and extend the existence of the period.
4. mud containing CMC, rarely affected by the mold, therefore, do not need to maintain a high PH value, do not have to use preservatives.
5. with CMC as a drilling mud wash fluid treatment agent, can resist a variety of soluble salts pollution.
6. CMC containing mud, good stability, even if the temperature above 150ºC can still reduce water loss.
7. High viscosity, high degree of substitution of CMC for smaller density of mud, low viscosity and high degree of substitution of CMC for the bigger density of the mud. Selection of CMC should be based on the type of mud and the region, well depth and other conditions to decide.
