Characteristics and Application
TOKO-347 is stainless stick electrode for all-position welding whose chemical composition contains low C-18% Cr-8% Ni-Ti (Nb) in the welding metal. By adding Ti or Nb, GES-347L can secure good corrosion resistance. Stable arc. Less spatter, smooth weld bead appearance, easy slag removal and excellent radiographic test result can be obtained. It is suitable for the welding of corrosion resistant storage facilities and pressure vessels such as 1Cr18Ni9Ti (SUS 321) and 1Cr19Ni11Nb (SUS347).

Notes on Usage:Dry the stick electrodes at 300-350°C for one hour before welding. Do not dry them twice to avoid detachment of covering.Be sure to remove moisture, oil and rust on the base metal.Try to reduce heat input.Choice of current: I=(25~40)*D; D means diameter of stick electrodes.Keep short arc length when welding to prevent the crack.Control interpass (layer) temperature to make it under 100°C.Remove the slag after each welding process.When using AC, the stick electrode will become hot easily and there will be more spatter during welding process. The situation can be improved by using DC.
