Gonadoreli n is used to test how well the hypothalamus and the pituitary glands are working. It is also used to cause ovulation (release of an egg from the ovary) in women who do not have regular ovulation and menstrual periods because the hypothalamus gland does not release enough GnRH.

Application

The gonadoreli n is given as a single injection either under the skin or into a vein.
Blood samples to measure the levels of LH and FSH in the blood are usually taken 15 minutes before the gonadorelin injection, immediately before the injection and then at 15, 30, 45, 60 and 120 minutes after the injection.
