The γ-Glutamyltransferase (GGT) assay kit is intended for the accurate and direct quantitative measurement of GGT activity in human plasma. GGT measurement is useful in the diagnosis of hepatobiliary disease.
Test principle
In this assay kit, soluble L-γ-glutamyl-3-carboxyl-p-nitroaniline (Glupac) serves as a substrate, and glycyglycine is designed to be a receptor of γ-glutamyl. γ-glutamyl can be transferred to glycyglycine molecules when catalyzed by GGT, producing yellow-colored 3-hydroxyl-p-nitroaniline. The reaction can induce an increase of absorbance at 405 nm, and the increasing rate is proportional to the activity of GGT.
