1. Applications of Silicone rubber for mold making:
Silicon rubber for molding making is primarily intended for poly resin crafts, PU crafts, PU resin crafts, gypsum crafts, unsaturated resin crafts, lighting and candles crafts, plastic toy, stationery gifts crafts industry, a large statue Buddha, relievo furniture, furniture decorative materials, statues Buddha, artifacts copied, building decoration materials, large-scale cement mold, artificial fossils Factory, Europe component factory, simulation landscapes, animals and plants sculpture, sandstone crafts and so on.
2. How to make a mold with Silicone rubber for mold making
Silicone rubber for mold making is composed of two components. Component A is white flowing liquid while component B is the curing agent.
Steps of Silicone rubber for mold making:
A. Take silicone rubber of 100g and add 2% curing agent for mixing evenly.
B. After the silicone rubber and the curing agent are completely mixed, put the silicon into a vacuum machine for deairing to remove the bubbles.
C. After deaired, pouring the liquid silicone rubber into the product to be duplicated or into the mold frame.
Note1: RTV-2 silicone rubber is used for pouring or brushing technique. That is to say,
Firstly fix the product or sole model to be duplicated onto a plane plate,
Then enclose the plane frame with wooden plates to prevent the leakage of the silicon rubber,
Thirdly mix the silicone rubber and the curing agent evenly according to the mixing ratio of 100: 2 and pour them onto the sole model,
At last brush evenly with a wooden plate or a brush, and fill up the mold frame with gypsum after the silicone rubber is dried.
Note 2: If the customer wants to make large products and large size molds, the mold should be made of silicon rubber with high hardness. On the contrary, if the mold with fine and precision patterns, it should be made of silicon with low hardness. The amount of the curing agent depends on the actual requirements of the customer. If molds requiring fast drying and demould, more curing agent is needed; Contrarily, if molds requiring slower drying and demold, less curing agent is needed.
Note3: Our company does not recommend you to add silicone oil. If a special soft silicon mold or fine detailed and complex patterns products are required, 5%-10% silicone oil can be added to soften the mold for easy demould.
Silicone rubber for mold making curing agent instruction:
1. Adding curing agent 1%, the silicone rubber can still be operated within 2.5 hours and can be demoulded after 6-8 hours.
2. Adding curing agent 2%, the silicone rubber can still be operated within 50 minutes to 1 hour and can be demoulded after 2-3 hours.
3. Adding curing agent 3%, the silicone rubber can still be operated within 28 - 30 minutes and can be demoulded after 1.5-2 hours.
4. Adding curing agent 4%, the silicone rubber can still be operated within 10 - 15 minutes and.
