A typical wire rope consists of three basic components:1.Wires.

3x7 Wire Rope for Cable Barrier

3x7-18/19mm galvanized steel wire ropes are commonly used in cable barrier systems. A 3x7 steel wire rope has three strands, each strand is made up of 7 identical wires wound around a center, meanwhile the wire ropes are galvanized for keeping the cable free of corrosion and rusting.

Cable Barrier Installation

1.Cable numbers: three or four cables are commonly used,five or six cables are used for reinforced guard railings.
2.Space distance:posts often installed with spacing from 6.3 to 32.6 ft,the longer spacing the higher deflection distance.
3.Tensioning: Cables are fixed on the post and tightened to specific tension as per local environment.Normally the tensions values range approximately from 2,000lb to 9,000lb.
